Snug Harbor Botanical Gardens (Staten Island)
Snug Harbor Botanical Gardens stands out as our preferred setting for capturing weddings and engagement sessions in Staten Island, New York. The undeniable charm of this location lies in its exquisite Tuscan Garden, a charming mini castle, a picturesque vine arch, and historic buildings. Many of our most remarkable and awe-inspiring photos have been crafted within the enchanting surroundings of Snug Harbor. It's important to note that the privilege of professional photography at this stunning venue comes with a nominal fee—a $150 charge for a two-hour permit to use the grounds as our canvas.
Dumbo (Brooklyn)
For those seeking a more urban atmosphere with a captivating view of New York City, DUMBO presents the ideal location. Nestled between two iconic bridges—the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge—this spot offers a picturesque setting for your engagement session. While no permit fee is required, it's worth noting that parking can be challenging, and the area tends to be bustling with tourists.
Central Park

One of my favorite locations for photos in Oyster Bay, Long Island, is Planting Fields Arboretum. Planting Fields features stunning gardens and beautiful historical buildings. Additionally, during the summer months, there is a flower arch that looks great for engagement photos. Planting Fields charges $100 for a general outdoor permit and $200 for a wedding outdoor permit.
Sands Point Preserve
(Long Island)
I particularly enjoy photographing indoors at Sands Point, NY, specifically at Sands Point Preserve. The Hempstead House, a historical mansion owned by the Guggenheim family, is a captivating indoor setting. When you acquire an indoor permit, you have the opportunity for a two-hour session indoors and an additional free hour outdoors. The permit for this location is priced at $450, and it is certainly worth the investment for a memorable session.
Princeton University
(New Jersey)
Next stop Hogwarts!!!! Just Kidding Princeton University is known for there stunning architecture. Many of there historical buildings are covered in beautiful vines. There are no shortages of locations for photos here. The best part is no photo permit required. However this location is a hot spot for photography and its typically very busy with photographers, torrists and students. The best time to vistit this location is during the summer before summer vaction is over.
Liberty State Park
(New Jersey)
For residents of New Jersey, particularly those in Hoboken or Jersey City, Liberty State Park emerges as an excellent choice for capturing engagement photos. The park offers breathtaking views of the iconic New York City skyline, making it a splendid and cost-effective alternative for your photo session. The scenic backdrop of the cityscape adds a touch of magic to your engagement photos, creating memorable moments against the stunning panorama of New York City. The best part there is no photo permit fee.
