Everything here is highly recommended. None of it is mandatory, but these simple choices are what make your photos feel timeless, the kind you will love just as much in ten or fifteen years as you do today.

A quick note on how we work: every session is shot outdoors, on location, never in a studio and never against a backdrop. That means your wardrobe gets to play against real settings: gardens, city streets, waterfront, and beautiful architecture. Dressing with a little intention is what makes those images feel elevated rather than ordinary.

Most important of all: love how you look

If there is one thing that matters more than anything else, it is this: you have to love how you look in what you are wearing. That confidence is what comes through in every frame. Before you leave the house, make sure everything fits beautifully, never too loose and never too tight. And if there is any area you would simply rather not draw attention to, choose pieces that flatter you and keep the focus exactly where you want it. When you feel comfortable and confident, it shows, and you will love your photos for it.

Save the white for your wedding day

It is tempting to reach for white or ivory, but save that moment for the day it truly belongs to. For your session, choose color. A red gown is one of our favorites: bold, romantic, and striking against greenery, stone, and city light. Deep, rich tones photograph beautifully outdoors and keep all the attention exactly where it should be, on the two of you.

Choose timeless over trendy

Before you buy something new or pull a piece from the closet, ask one question: will this still feel right in ten or fifteen years? Trends date quickly. Clean, elegant, classic pieces never do, and they are what make the wall art and albums you will keep for a lifetime.

Dress for the location and the season

Because we are always outside, think about where we are headed and the time of year. Bring layers for cooler months, and choose shoes you can comfortably walk and move in between locations. If you would like a second look during the session, bring a change of outfit, just plan for a few extra minutes to make the switch.

A few final touches: steam or iron everything the night before, use a lint roller before you arrive (especially if you have pets), and bring anything meaningful you would like included. For more on looking and feeling your best on camera, see the Confident & Camera-Ready guide.
