A garden wedding in East Northport: clipped hedges, a reflecting pool, and a ballroom that disappeared into fog for the first dance.
Chelsea and Ryan met in school, and on September 18, 2026 they married at Larkfield in East Northport. Their day had everything that makes a Larkfield wedding special: formal gardens for the first look and portraits, a ceremony under the greenery, and a reception that only got louder as the night went on.
Their photographs run through the full visual language I bring to every wedding: documentary coverage for the real, unscripted moments, off-camera flash for the editorial portraits, and frames made to live on the wall. You can read more about how a day like this comes together on The Approach.
From Planting Fields to Larkfield
Before the wedding, Chelsea and Ryan did their Portrait Experience session at Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay. That session does more than produce beautiful photographs. It is where couples learn how I direct, how to find good light, and how to stop thinking about the camera. By September, the two of them already knew the rhythm, and it shows in how relaxed their garden portraits feel.
A first look in the gardens
Larkfield’s formal gardens are the signature setting here: tall clipped hedges, flower beds, a reflecting pool, and a small bridge across it. In mid-September the afternoon sun is still strong, which is why the hedges matter. They give open shade for close, natural portraits, while the pool and the bridge give the wide frames with the whole garden in them.
Ryan’s Corvette

Ryan’s own Corvette made it into the day, and it earned a portrait of its own. Personal details like this are worth planning for. If something matters to you, a car, a family heirloom, a place, mention it on our timeline call and we will build a few minutes around it.
Into the night
Inside, the reception moved quickly: a grand entrance through the ballroom doors, a first dance through low fog, a father-daughter dance, and a dance floor that stayed full all night. Much of the evening is in black and white, which suits the fog and the energy of the room.
Their photographs, on their walls
Chelsea and Ryan chose several acrylic pieces for their home, the kind of work guests notice the moment they walk in. If you are thinking about how your own photographs will live after the wedding, see Wall Art & Albums.
“Amazing experience! My husband and I got married on September 18th, 2026 and the pictures from both our wedding day and our trial engagement shoot were incredible! George made the process so simple and was very personable through the entire process. We also purchased several acrylic canvases with George that we get compliments on every time anyone comes over! We will definitely have George come take more pictures for our family in the future!”
